Brief presentation of the member

The Berliner Bau- und Wohnungsgenossenschaft von 1892 eG (hereinafter 1892) was originally founded as Berliner Spar- und Bauverein on 9 March 1892.
The primary purpose of the cooperative is a good, safe and socially responsible housing supply for the members of the cooperative. Saving, building, living - that is what 1892 stands for with its three business segments.
With almost 15,000 members, we are a large cooperative. The more than 6,800 apartments can be found in almost all Berlin districts and in Wandlitz (Brandenburg).
We uphold tradition and look after the living of tomorrow. With our model of intergenerational living, we offer our residents longevity, stability and predictability.

Products and activities within the context of Smart Home and Connected Life

One of the goals of 1892 is to make lifelong cooperative living possible. In order to come closer to this goal, we would also like to bring technical possibilities that go beyond structural measures into the living environment.
We are always looking for innovative ideas that make sense for the 1892, our residents and/or members.

Interesting topics are:

  • intelligent installation control and monitoring
  • tenant's electricity supply
  • Mobility concepts in cooperation with partners (sharing models)
  • digital locking systems
  • age-supporting technology in the living environment
